Finzean Turning Mill
Finzean Turning Mill
Finzean (pron. Fing-an), on the Feugh, has an old bucket mill and an old turning mill. Here are the turning mill lade and under-shot wheel. The bucket mill is about 1.5 kilometres to the west of the turning mill. The turning mill has three waterwheels and a marvellous system of lades to feed them. It originally turned bungs for herring barrels, but now produces wooden turned souvenirs, finials, brush-heads etc. Both mills are owned by the Birse Community Trust (BCT). See LinkExternal link
