Redoubt at Crowthorne Wood
Redoubt at Crowthorne Wood
This is one of at least four redoubts (see also SU8564 ) built in this area. The redoubts were constructed for military training in July 1792. The banks are clearly visible on the ground as roughly 15 metre square constructions, 2 metres high with a shallow ditch all around.
