Avocet at Tresillian in Topsham
Avocet at Tresillian in Topsham
Taken from on board the MV My Queen on an RSPB organised cruise. The beach is at the southern end of The Strand where it meets the Goat Walk, the house behind being at the junction of The Strand and Tresillian. The waders are avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta), for which the Exe estuary is noted, and they are believed to be birds that breed in Holland and winter here.
