TQ2841 : Gatwick Airport shuttle to south terminal satellite

taken 30 years ago, near to London Gatwick Airport, West Sussex, Great Britain

Gatwick Airport shuttle to south terminal satellite.
Gatwick Airport shuttle to south terminal satellite.
This ran from the South Terminal to its satellite, which was opened in 1983. The shuttle has now been replaced by walkways and travelators, although some of the track remains in place. Gatwick is Britain's second biggest airport and the locals are still campaigning against the building of a second runway. The airport has excellent transport connections - it has its own station on the London - Brighton line and it is by Junction 9A on the M23.
