TM2524 : Hamford Water

Hamford Water
Hamford Water
Looking along the seawall towards the Walton Channel.
The tidal flats to the right are part of the Hamford Water National Nature Reserve. The seawall originally dates from the C14th and it has been suggested that it follows such a sinuous course because the builders followed the lines of old sheep trods through the marshes as these showed where the land was solid enough to build upon.
