The Queen's Hall was built in 1823 as Hope Park Chapel of Ease for St
Cuthbert's Parish. It then became Newington and St Leonards Church (Church of Scotland).It was then converted to a concert hall 1978-9 and was opened as the Queen's Hall, new home of the Scottish Philharmonic Society, by Her Majesty the Queen 6 July 1979.
