Plaque at Kew Gardens, Surrey
Plaque at Kew Gardens, Surrey
Plaque near to Kew Palace marking the site of "The White House", which stood on this site and was a Royal Palace from 1736 to 1802, when it was demolished. A beautiful Palladian house it was much admired in its day and was the home of Frederick, Prince of Wales and his Consort Princess Augusta. There is a white outline in the grass, similar to on a sports pitch, marking out the position of The White House.
