SX9463 : Coral Coast

Coral Coast
Coral Coast
The view is interesting as the photographer is in the old limestone quarry at Hope's Nose looking past Black Head, looking past the old limestone quarry at Long Quarry Point and in the far distance is the famous limestone quarry of Petit Tor (looking like a "Giant's Armchair"). The limestone is said to have been laid down as corals some 340 m years ago when the land mass was then south of the equator..... it is indeed Devon's Coral Coast and is part of the 'English Riviera Geopark' a status granted by UNESCO.
