Interior of the old barn at East Riddlesden Hall
Interior of the old barn at East Riddlesden Hall
The barn building itself is of historical interest as a rare survival of this type of wooden structure. The white specks in the background are holes in the gable wall, which let in some light but their main function was probably to allow owls or other birds in to keep rodents under control. It is now a museum containing examples of wooden carts and farm machinery.
