Holly hedge
Holly hedge
A beautiful hedge which is overgrown by local standards but thus providing much food for insects, birds and small mammals. Holly is excellent for safe bird nests, especially early blackbirds who like to start nesting before the deciduous hedges grow their leaves. The less-manicured farmland here is much better for wildlife than intensively used land.
