SO2936 : Holly hedge, pruned

taken 10 years ago, near to Craswall, Herefordshire, Great Britain

Holly hedge, pruned
Holly hedge, pruned
This mature holly hedge has been cut but it will sprout again, more quickly if the hedge is double fenced to keep off sheep. They don't like eating only grass but will browse on young leaves and shoots of any hedge including holly.
The amount of double fencing increases every year in this part of England thanks to Stewardship funding for landowners.
Work in progress here might finish with a fence each side of the hedge.
