SN7790 : Nant Bryn Moel

taken 10 years ago, near to Hyddgen [other Features], Powys, Great Britain

Nant Bryn Moel
Nant Bryn Moel
The stream has been diverted at this point using a curved and quite tall earth wall (Coflein[1]: LinkExternal link ). This is rather more striking on the ground than this image portrays. The diversion moves the point where the stream enters the Afon Hyddgen LinkExternal link downstream of Hyddgen farmstead LinkExternal link and was presumably built to reduce flood risk in the shallow Hyddgen valley LinkExternal link .

The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales (RCAHMW) maintains a web data base ('Coflein') of all the records it holds. Each data set has a short description and is classified in terms of period and function, and sources of surveys of the location are given. Search Coflein at: LinkExternal link
