NY8738 : Paddling off the edge of the ford at Ireshopeburn

Paddling off the edge of the ford at Ireshopeburn
Paddling off the edge of the ford at Ireshopeburn
A limestone ledge provides a ford with shallow water at the drop-off. Even with the rest of the Upper River Wear at a near-perfect paddling level, getting over this ledge is difficult and needs a little effort. Both the paddlers on this Swaledale Outdoor Club trip are temporarily stuck on the lip.
