TL1766 : The Dam Wall

taken 10 years ago, near to Buckden, Cambridgeshire, Great Britain

The Dam Wall
The Dam Wall
Grafham Water was constructed between 1962 and 1966 to serve the expanding towns of Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. To maintain water levels, river water is pumped from the Ouse at Offord. The earth wall is part of the southern flank. Cyclists and walkers are not permitted to walk along the top of the bank for fear of being hooked by casting anglers. They must take the rough track as shown in the photo.
