Borough Hillfort
Borough Hillfort
A small hillfort, only an acre in size, standing on plateau gravel at the top of Borough Hill between the villages of Winterbourne and Boxford. The fort is not marked on maps but was identified by M. Aylwin Cotton in 1962 and mentioned at page 5 of LinkExternal link. Borough Hill is the neighbouring feature to that of the Bussock Camp hillfort SU4672, which is some two miles away to the east.
