Islay House Community Garden
Islay House Community Garden
Islay House Community Garden is a project of the Bridgend Community Centre to restore to use the former walled gardens of Islay House, which were last used in the sixties. The garden is used to grow vegetables for sale to the public and the main plots have been ploughed for this year's planting.
The white wall at the back is relict of the heated glasshouse. The white building visible through the trees to the left is Islay House itself. The buildings to the right, above the garden, are the Square - former estate workshops - which are now let to several small businesses including Islay's only brewery.
