Allix House
Allix House
Formerly a pub called The Allix Arms, built to serve the railway trade, which it outlasted, closing in 1975. The name was a tribute to Mr C.P.Allix of Swaffham Prior House, who was instrumental in promoting the railway. In the 1950s and 60s, before the arrival of mains electricity the pub had its own generator. The landlord was also a coal merchant.
