Marked on the map as Victoria Buildings it was built in 1893 and used originally as a ground floor shopping arcade providing access to a theatre above. It was a cinema at one time, reverted to a theatre and then became a dance hall in the 1950s.
It stands vacant at the moment with the window space being used to advertise the town's Victorian festival on August bank holiday weekend.
