The most splendid unconformity!
The most splendid unconformity!
Morley Quarry, near Shepshed, displays a wonderful unconformity - at the bottom is volcanic bedrock from the Cambrian period, c 600 million years old; covered by Triassic 300 million + years younger sedimentary sandstone - which in turn is topped by current soil and possibly glacial 'rubbish'.
