Neptune WX545 home-based at R.A.F. Topcliffe. On 10th October 1956, when on detachment to R.A.F. Balykelly, while on an anti-submarine exercise, this aircraft crashed on the Mull of Kinyre, with the loss of all 9 crew, most of whom are buried here in Topcliffe cemetery. A commemorative oak plaque has been mounted in Topcliffe church
