taken 15 years ago, near to Hastoe, Hertfordshire, England

The Bridleway was once much wider
The Bridleway was once much wider
The wood has encroached onto the bridleway and a study of the remains of the old hedgerows on either side gives a width of perhaps 10 metres – suggesting it may have been a droveway – perhaps used to drive livestock to market for slaughter.
