SE0972 : Blayshaw Gill aqueduct

Blayshaw Gill aqueduct
Blayshaw Gill aqueduct
Looking across the top of the aqueduct, originally constructed for Bradford Corporation to link the reservoirs at the head of Nidderdale with storage reservoirs nearer the city. Should one attempt to cross this? There are no signs forbidding access, and this is a dry way across the fast flowing beck beneath. However, the gates may be locked, the surface is convex and of unknown material, whilst the drop is around 15 metres. The photographer thought better of it.
