Sound Lodge, Sound Heath
Small modern dwelling adjacent to the older farmhouse of Sound Hall (here concealed by trees; see
SJ6148 : Sound Hall, Sound Heath). The roadside red-brick building (right; shown in
SJ6148 : Former malt kiln, near Sound Hall), apparently disused when photographed in March 2009, was formerly a maltkiln and brewery [A Lamberton & R Gray. 'Lost Buildings of Nantwich', pp. 75-6 (Landmark Publishing; 2006)]. According to this source, in 2006 it was being used as a barn. On a revisit in April 2010 it was in the process of being converted for residential use. View from the public footpath between Wrenbury Heath Road and Aston
