SJ6148 : Sound Lodge, Sound Heath

taken 15 years ago, near to Wrenbury Heath, Cheshire East, England

Sound Lodge, Sound Heath
Sound Lodge, Sound Heath
Small modern dwelling adjacent to the older farmhouse of Sound Hall (here concealed by trees; see SJ6148 : Sound Hall, Sound Heath). The roadside red-brick building (right; shown in SJ6148 : Former malt kiln, near Sound Hall), apparently disused when photographed in March 2009, was formerly a maltkiln and brewery [A Lamberton & R Gray. 'Lost Buildings of Nantwich', pp. 75-6 (Landmark Publishing; 2006)]. According to this source, in 2006 it was being used as a barn. On a revisit in April 2010 it was in the process of being converted for residential use. View from the public footpath between Wrenbury Heath Road and Aston
