SD5429 : Starkie's Corner

Starkie's Corner
Starkie's Corner
The title can be made out on the first floor, on both faces of the building, and on the angled window of the show window. I wonder if the name is still in use today? It's the corner of Lancaster Road (where the bus is coming from) and Church Street.
A peculiarity of the Preston Corporation bus network at the time was the use of letters rather than numbers to designate routes (there were one or two others). This bus was in the old dark maroon livery which was at the time being replaced by a brighter blue and cream livery.
This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. LinkExternal link
