SU4266 : Hamstead Park

taken 9 years ago, near to Enborne, West Berkshire, Great Britain

Hamstead Park
Hamstead Park
An estate road and public footpath above the park's fishing lake. Hamstead Marshall was the seat of the Earls of Craven. The manor house burnt down in 1718. A former hunting lodge (just south of here) was then extended and was last occupied by the family in 1965. It then became a nursing home, but has now been converted back into a private residence.
