Bramber Castle
Bramber Castle
Not the clearest of pictures but this view is across the deep ditch and high embankment with some fragments of masonry just visible beyond. The castle was built around 1073 to guard the Adur gap but was derelict by the 16th century with the remnants of the masonry either pilfered or destroyed by a small skirmish in 1642.
