Southacre Quarry Clay Storage Sheds

A small section of the vast clay storage sheds on this site. In the background, the spoil heaps are the edge of a huge open cast pit. The clay is brought from the face to the sheds by large dumper trucks, sorted and then reloaded onto road going trucks. Much of the clay from here is transported by road to Teignmouth docks and then transshipped onto boats for European and other destinations.
