The Old Grandstand
The Old Grandstand
Once a two storey building providing fine views down the full length of the course. It dates from 1771 although the site has been used for racing from the seventeenth century.

The Old Racecourse was abandoned in 1891 as a racecourse as the bends were too tight for the modern breed of racehorses. It is now Open Access Land comprising rough grassland and is still used for exercising horses.
