Saltdean Lido
Saltdean Lido
Built in 1937 by RHW Jones who was also the architect responsible for the nearby Ocean Hotel. The Lido has remained popular ever since despite a period in the 1970s when there were plans to demolish it. It was also closed for three years in the 1990s before a public-private partnership managed to raise funds to restore the pool to its original majesty. Taken from over the fence on Saltdean Park Road with the western side of the dip in Saltdean Gap in the background.
