SH7757 : The Mincer, Afon Llugwy

taken 15 years ago, near to Betws-y-Coed, Conwy, Great Britain

The Mincer, Afon Llugwy
The Mincer, Afon Llugwy
This scenic cascade is more of a heinous obstacle to paddlers descending the Afon Llugwy to Betws y Coed, as it is grade 5 even when at the right level to paddle. Two of this group had shot just the bottom section of the rapid, but most carried round and put back on in this aerated pool at the bottom. The next section of the river (Miners' Bridge Rapid) is still quite challenging at a high water level like this.
