Military graves, St Deiniol's graveyard
Many local cemeteries and graveyards have numbers of War Graves, containing the remains of WW1 and WW2 casualties, and St Deiniol's has a number scattered among the locals' graves. The proximity of the RAF airfields at Sealand and Hawarden led to a dedicated section being established at its north-east corner, opposite the Council Cemetery, where there are further War Graves. Those buried here include men killed between the wars and since WW2. Their graves are similar to those of war-time casualties, but they are not listed on the War Graves Commission's website entry for the Cemetery. RAF Hawarden, where WW2 bombers were built, is now the Broughton Factory of British Aerospace, building wings for the European Airbus.
