Swanage, Wellington clock tower
Overlooking the shore between the pier (in the background, to the right) & Peveril Point, this English Heritage-listed clock tower Link was originally situated at London Bridge and commemorated Wellington. When it became an obstruction to traffic, John Mowlem moved it to Swanage, as he did with other artifacts, as ballast in his boats & to beautify the town. More observant readers might notice that it is a clock tower without face or hands.
