SO9600 : King's Reach

taken 10 years ago, near to Tarlton, Gloucestershire, Great Britain

King's Reach
King's Reach
Looking along King's Reach on the Thames and Severn Canal towards the Sapperton Tunnel. This length was named King's Reach following a visit of King George III during the tunnel's construction. The Monarch's Way long distance footpath also runs parallel to the canal at this point, however the monarch in question in this case was of course the future Charles II who was fleeing the country after his defeat at the Battle of Worcester.
