SD4357 : On the edge of Lades Marsh

taken 9 years ago, near to Overton, Lancashire, Great Britain

On the edge of Lades Marsh
On the edge of Lades Marsh
Looking towards Overton which is behind the hill on the horizon. The footpath splits into two here, one route follows the shore while the other crosses the fence to follow the top of the flood bank.
At high tide the sea fills the flat area across the centre of the photograph, covering the saltmarsh grasses and plants. This was taken about 2 hours after high water, so you can appreciate how quickly the marsh drains of surface water.
