SP3165 : Wrong side of the tracks

taken 9 years ago, near to Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, Great Britain

Wrong side of the tracks
Wrong side of the tracks
This building was intended to be part of the Victorian building boom designed to take advantage of Leamington Spa's early popularity. But a building industry collapse and general decline, plus being just too near Leamington's old town and the railway, meant that schemes for up-market terraced houses were never completed. Indeed, some of the terraces that were finished were subsequently demolished to make way for the railway station nearby. This much-altered block now stands in isolation and is a pub cum local club in an area that is generally run down.
