near to Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, Great Britain

Site of Milverton Station
Site of Milverton Station
Milverton Station on the Leamington to Coventry line was situated on the embankment to the left of the bridge. In its last form the booking office was at street level and the left hand arch was divided up to provide a subway between the two platforms.

The station on the Warwick New Road was roughly halfway between Warwick and Leamington and as a result over its life between the mid 1800s and its closure in 1964 it had no less than 9 names. These included just Leamington, when it was Leamington's only station, followed variously by Warwick, Warwick (Milverton), Leamington (Milverton), Leamington Milverton (Warwick) and Milverton for (Warwick) and finally Leamington Spa (Milverton) for Warwick depending upon the prevailing political and marketing thinking at the time.

The station's other claim to fame is that it was damaged by an IRA bomb shortly before the outbreak of WWII.
