SP2965 : Site of Emscote Mill

Site of Emscote Mill
Site of Emscote Mill
The mainly bricked up arches under the towpath of the Grand Union Canal are about the only evidence that the modern block of flats occupies the site of what was once Emscote Mill. In its later years this was the home of Fleur de Lys pies, a fact of which one was frequently reminded when passing by the gorgeous cooking smell emanating from the premises.

Fleur de Lys pies were originally created at the SP1867 : Fleur de Lys, Lowsonford before their popularity and success resulted in their manufacture being transferred here and them being supplied to Fish and Chip shops throughout the country.
