Boatyard, Warwick Wharf
Boatyard, Warwick Wharf
Part of the extensive wharfage along this length of the Grand Union Canal is used by various boatyards. To the right are the premised of Delta Marine boatbuilders and partly covered by sheeting is one of their latest projects, a dutch style barge. This vessel somewhat dwarfs the adjacent narrowboats with it's 12' 6' beam and rise & fall wheel house. It will however be perfectly able to use the canal between here and the Thames in London and also as far as Samson's Lane Wharf in Birmingham as the Grand Union Canal was widened to take craft of this size in the 1930s.
