TQ3082 : Queen Who?

Queen Who?
There has been some confusion over the years about which queen this represents. A contemporary newspaper report implied that it was Queen Anne, but it clearly bears no resemblance to her. It is now believed to be Queen Charlotte, consort of George III.
At one time there was a sceptre apparently held by the statue, which would be appropriate for a queen regnant such as Anne, but this must have been a later addition as it was not actually in the hand but attached to the fingertips. This has now been removed.
