Uncamouflaged caravans
Uncamouflaged caravans
National Park regulations dictate that these caravans must be green to blend in with the background, but the shade is a poor match for either grass or trees, so that they stand out as a very useful landmark for canoeists on the River Swale just before they encounter a set of stepping stones which have to be negotiated with care. In winter or early spring, with the trees bare and the grass a nice light tan, the caravans look particularly incongruous.
