THE MAGISTRATES, SENSIBLE OF THE MISERABLE STATE OF THE ANCIENT PRISON, IN COMPASSION TO THE UNFORTUNATE, CAUSED THIS BUILDING TO BE ERECTED IN THE YEAR MDCCLXXV Jos. Turner Architect
