Auld Nick's View
This little lane is aptly named in recogition of Burns's famous poem, "Tam O'Shanter". Burns described Auld Nick (i.e. the Devil) playing the bagpipes for the dancing of the witches and warlocks in the Auld Kirk. When the name plate was put up in the year 2000, it produced a spate of complaints from local residents who objected to the Devil being featured so close to the new church.
