The Old Tattie Line
The Old Tattie Line
Now a popular footpath, this is part of the old coastal railway line between Ayr and Girvan. It was known locally as "The Tattie Line", from the cargo of early potatoes that it used to transport to market from the coastal farms. The Tam O'Shanter Experience visitor centre is built on the former Alloway railway station.
