The impressive structure was built in 1807 in front of the, currently under repair, Town House. Linlithgow was a favourite resort for Scotland's Royal family, the Stewarts, and it was at Linlithgow Palace, on 8th December, 1542, where Princess Mary Stewart, later Queen of Scots, was born.
