Giant hogweed, Riverside Walk, Warwick
Giant hogweed, Riverside Walk, Warwick
In summer the field is shoulder-high, even head-high, with stinging nettles.
In most recent summers, a few Giant hogweed plants have appeared (Heracleum mantegazzianum).
The sap causes a bad rash, and if the plants take hold they can suppress other vegetation, leading to erosion of the riverbank.
If you find one, don't touch it: report it to the local council.
