SJ3490 : The Liverpool Underground

taken 10 years ago, 3 km from Liverpool, Great Britain

The Liverpool Underground
The Liverpool Underground
Only four British cities have underground railways: London has its well-known extensive system, Glasgow has a simple 'circular' line, Newcastle has its Metro (opened in 1980), and Liverpool has a system, part of which was established many years ago but which was extended in the 1970s when other lines were placed on underground alignments. Here, a Class 508 train is seen at Liverpool Central, awaiting departure to Kirkby.
