SO9163 : A very dead canal

taken 10 years ago, near to Hadzor, Worcestershire, Great Britain

A very dead canal.
A very dead canal.
If you look carefully in the trees you can see a bridge that is across the end of a long derelict lock chamber. The space between the trees also defines the lock chamber. Barbed wire deters a closer look, but not half as much as the dense undergrowth. There is also a remnant of what I think is an adjoining side pound. Which canal? - The Droitwich Junction. Now replaced by a new cut (2008-9).
