Goytsclough Quarry
Goytsclough Quarry
First worked around 1670; this quarry was owned by Thomas Pickford, the founder of the famous removals company of the same name. Paving stone was taken from here by packhorse trains to places as far afield as London, where it was used to supply Regent Street and Oxford Street.
