Winter of 1990/91 was a fine time to come and live in the Yorkshire Dales - I thought every winter would be like this, with roads blocked and ski-touring every day for a week or more. This was our second day out on nordic skis up the road from Low Row (skins needed, or some very wide herring-boning for some). Once on the moor, the road provided a perfect loipe, although the cattle grid just before turning onto the bridge was a bit of a hazard...
