SJ4186 : Obelisk - Allerton Golf Club
near to Childwall, Liverpool, Great Britain

Obelisk - Allerton Golf Club
This obelisk is to the south east of Allerton Golf Club House. It was erected by the owners of nearby Allerton Hall long before the construction of the house "Allerton", the ruins of which can be seen behind. Originally a prospect at the end of a long avenue of beeches, the sides face the four points of the compass and it was once crowned with a copper ball. It marks the spot exactly 5 miles from Liverpool Town Hall.
